Nécessite l'utilisation d'un HAT ou module (non inclus) avec interface M.2 Key M (voir articles conseillés). Ce SSD remplace la carte microSD nécessaire à l'utilisation d'une carte Raspberry Pi. Elle offre des performances en lecture et écriture nettement supérieures et une durée de vie accrue. Remarques : Le Raspberry Pi doit être équipé d'une microSD avec Raspberry Pi OS pour configurer l'ordre de boot des stockages. Une fois cet ordre configuré, la microSD peut être retirée. La carte Raspberry Pi doit également disposer d'une version récente du bootloader, voir guide de mise à jour.
